Article I - Organization Meeting
Section 1: The Annual Organizational Meeting of the Board of Trustees shall be held on the day of Change of Watch.

Article II - Initiation Fees, Dues & Assessments
Section 1: The initiation fee shall be two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) plus applicable sales tax. The initiation fee of a Junior Member (Class A) shall be waived. The initiation fee of a Junior Member (Class B) shall be two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) plus applicable sales tax and may be paid in installments of their choosing prior to their twenty-eighth birthday. The Junior Member (Class B) shall execute a note for the initiation fee, payable on their twenty eighth birthday, at zero percent (0%) interest prior to to the due date and to accrue interest at an annual rate of ten percent (10%) thereafter.
Section 2: The annual dues shall be two hundred dollars ($200.00) plus applicable sales tax. The annual dues for Junior members (Class A) shall be Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) plus applicable sales tax, until their twenty-eighth birthday, after which they must pay full membership dues. The annual dues for Junior members (Class B) shall be Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) plus applicable sales tax, until their twenty-eighth birthday, after which they must pay full membership dues. Dues for Senior Members shall be one-half that of Regular Members. There shall be no dues required of Life and Honorary Members. All annual dues shall be payable November 1st of each year.
Section 3: Membership in the Club shall be contingent upon payment of all current dues. Loss of membership shall occur if current dues are not paid by March 1st of each year.
Section 4: With the approval of the Admissions Committee former Members may be reinstated upon paying the current initiation fee and dues. The Admissions Committee may waive the current initiation fee requirement for former members who have resigned within the past three (3) years.
Section 5: Applications for membership received after the Annual Membership Meeting shall be deemed applications for the following fiscal year unless otherwise requested. With approval of the Admissions Committee, the Secretary or his/her assistant shall notify such applicants of their acceptance and invite them to attend Yacht Club functions as though a Member, and their names shall be added to the mailing list.

Article III - Membership Limitation
Section 1: The voting membership of the Club shall be limited to 500.
Section 2: The membership limit shall be waived for Members of the immediate family of voting Members.

Article IV - Resignation and Expulsion
Section 1: Resignation of Member shall be made in writing to the Secretary and shall be accepted by the Board of Trustees provided that the Member resigning is not indebted to the Club.
Section 2: A Member of the Club may be censured, suspended or expelled by a majority vote of the Board of Trustees after opportunity for hearing has been given.
Section 3: Written charges preferred against a Member must be submitted to the Secretary.
Section 4: Notice of the hearing, and copies of the charges, shall be sent at least ten (10) days before the date of the hearing, to the Member against whom the action is proposed.

Article V - Committees
Section 1: The Executive Committee of the Club shall be comprised of the Commodore, Vice Commodore and Rear Commodore.
Section 2: The Commodore shall be empowered to commit funds of the Club to $1,000.00 for each purpose.
Section 3: A member of the Board of Trustees shall serve as liaison to each of the standing committees, designed as follows:
Fund Raising
Responsible for finding means to help the Club support its needs. To work closely with the ladies Auxiliary to assure coordination in fund raising efforts.
House & Grounds - Club Use/Rules/Kitchen
Assist Commodore in establishing rules and policies for use and rental of facilities including normal maintenance.
Facilities Management
Responsible for improvements and new construction as well as major maintenance and decorating. To work with House & Grounds committee.
I-LYA
Responsible for assisting Commodore in planning activities related to I-LYA Bay weeks and Liaison with I-LYA.
Island Liaison
Responsible for participation in Chamber of Commerce and other island and area activities.
Long Range Planning
Responsible for issues of long-term concern.
Membership & Admissions
Responsible for liaison with members to assess needs and wants; to develop programs to attract new members in all classifications.
Nominating
Responsible for placing in nomination, at the Annual Membership Meeting, the names of candidates for each vacancy on the Board of Trustees. Appointed in accord with the Code of Regulations.
Sailing
Responsible for organizing and executing intra- and inter-club sailing events both on water activities and support function on land. Also oversee maintenance of Club boats.
Social Activities
Responsible for advising and assisting incoming Rear Commodore in preparing social calendar.
Section 4: Each Flag Officer shall be responsible for the committees as outlined under the organizational chart. The position of Fleet Captain shall be appointed by the Commodore for a term of one (1) year. Committee Chairmen shall seek committee representation from allied Ladies Auxiliary committees whenever possible, to facilitate cooperation within the organization.
Section 5: The Commodore shall appoint from the Voting Membership the following representatives:
A. Delegates and Alternatives to other Organizations
B. Rental Agent (the Commodore may assume this function at his discretion)
C. Legal Advisor
Section 6: The Commodore shall appoint such other committees and chairmen thereof as may be directed or desired.

Article VI - Rules, Policies and Expenditures
Section 1: The House & Grounds - Club Use/Rules/ Kitchen Committee shall formulate rules regulating the use and occupancy of the Clubhouse and Club Properties. Upon adoption by the Board of Trustees such rules and regulations shall be published and posted in a conspicuous place on the premises. The Legal Advisor shall be a member of this committee.
Section 2: All policy recommendations of standing committees and expenditures of funds in excess of Article V, Section 2 empowerment, shall be approved or adopted by the Board of Trustees.

Article VII - Ladies Auxiliary
Section 1: Female members of the Club are automatically members of the Ladies Auxiliary. Members of the Ladies Auxiliary shall promulgate their own rules and regulations that are not inconsistent with the purposes and Charter and Code of Regulations of the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.
Section 2: Junior sailing and swimming instruction, adult sailing and swimming instruction, sale of club emblems, burgees, jackets, etc., are areas of activity which the Board of Trustees give responsibility of management and financing to the Auxiliary.
Section 3: A Member or Designate of the Board of Trustees of the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club and of the Ladies Auxiliary shall be permitted to sit as liaison to each other's respective meetings, and the two bodies shall exchange their Board of Trustees meeting minutes.

Article VIII - Amendments
Section 1: These Bylaws, or any part thereof, may be amended, rescinded or enlarged at any regular meeting of the elected Trustees.

Article IX - Fiscal Year
Section 1: The Fiscal Year shall be
November 1-October 31.
