Thank you for your interest in joining the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. Founded in 1886, PIBYC is one of the oldest yacht clubs on the Great Lakes, and offers its members a unique mix of activities ashore and afloat.
The Club is active in several boating organizations including the Western Lake Erie Cruiser Association (WLECA), Greater Cleveland Boating Association (GCBA), Associated Yacht Clubs (AYC), the Interlake Yachting Association (I-LYA). The Club serves as host for the I-LYA Junior Sailing championships in July, Senior Sail and Power Regattas in August, and sponsors a hospitality suite at the association spring meeting. The Club is also frequently asked to host special boating events. Because of these affiliations, a PIBYC membership card grants access to facilities around the country and beyond (our past Fleet Surgeon received a hearty welcome from the Hobart Yacht Club while traveling in Australia).
If you would like to join PIBYC and you are already a current member of an I-LYA-, AYC-, or GCBA-affiliated club, your initiation fee may be waived. Please include a copy of your current membership card with your application. Those who join and pay the initiation fee will receive $100 back in the form of a PIBYC gift certificate.
An application for membership can be downloaded here.
If you are having trouble viewing the Membership Application, be sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader. The latest version can be downloaded here.

Our membership consists of power boaters, sail boaters, non-boaters, and a few ferry boaters. The Club season spans from early May to early October, although we also sponsor winter events to allow us a regular boating "fix."
Just as membership in PIBYC carries these privileges, it also carries responsibility. We are first and foremost a volunteer organization, and all members are asked to contribute whatever skills they can - we have a job for everyone. It is a great way to get involved and meet new people!
