2024 PIBYC Cruise-outs

Each year our boaters enjoy traveling to other yacht clubs to experience new and fun places. Our Power Fleet Captain, Herb Albrecht, has set up a great schedule this year.
Power and Sail Members are welcome to join in on the cruise-outs.

2024 Schedule

Cruise out sign up e-mails were sent 1-22-24

All attendees will receive a information PDF file via e-mail prior to each cruise out. The PDF will contain radio channels to communicate with the dock masters, marina phone numbers and information, safety services phone numbers, and any other cruise out specific information.



May 17-19 Shake down cruise “in” to PIB

  • Soup cook off at PIBYC

  • Golf cart poker run


June 21-23 Middle Bass Island

  • Have dinner with Middle Bass Yacht Club (stay tuned)

  • MBIYC website

  • Make your dock reservations at the state park marina HERE or call 866-644-6727

  • We might have a few docks available at the Middle Bass Yacht Club (stay tuned)

July 21-25 North Channel Yacht Club

  • (2) dinner meals for the entire group to attend. A seafood boil and a dinner on the island or at a local restaurant

  • Christmas in July gift exchange

  • Dinghy poker run to area bars and restaurants

  • Dinghies for lunch and dinner. Grills are available for those who will stay on the island

  • We are staying Sunday pm until Thursday am (I’m trying for Friday am…)

  • We have @20 docks reserved. Sign up by filling out the 2024 PIBYC cruise out questionnaire

  • I will be heading north after the North Channel Yacht Club if anyone has a interest let me know.

September 6-8 Leamington Canada

  • Winery tasting/tour for those interested

2023 Schedule

05-19-23 to 05-21-23 Shake down Cruise—Put-in-Bay Yacht Club


• Soup cook off at the club

• If weather permits we will have a “selfie scavenger hunt” Golf cart teams will have to explore the island trying to find the location of the clues provided. Take a selfie and text it to me. Thanks to Ted Good for the idea.

6-09-23 to 6-11-23 Seaway Marina—Kelleys Island

VHF CH80 for dock-master   

•You need to call Seaway and make your own reservation.

• I have reserved dockage for the west wall near the two pavilions. We will have to raft on the wall. You can call and make reservations for a floating dock or the wall. 24 hour cancelation policy.

• Friday 6:00pm apps and wine tasting. Saturday golf cart poker run mid day. 6:00pm meal catered by Taste By The Lake Catering at one of the pavilions.

• Long walk to the restrooms and downtown. Bikes or golf carts are a must.

As of 05-16-23 we have 20 boats, 42 people

40 Members attended the catered dinner.

Rob was the winner of the poker run with a full house. 49 hands were played.



7-23-23 to 07-27-23 North Channel Yacht Club 

VHF CH9 for dock-master

• (2) dinner meals for the entire group to attend
• Christmas in July gift exchange
 • Dinghies for lunch and dinner. Grills are available for those who want to stay on the island
 • We are staying Sunday pm until Thursday.

8-18-23 to 8-20-23 Erieau Marina Canada 

•Call Erieau Marina to reserve your dock. 519-676-4511

• Deli and pub in walking distance. Marina pool. Dinghy to Rondeau Joes in the bay.

•Reserved space for 15 boats. Call the Marina and reserve your space.

•300 boat wells, equipped with water and 15, 30 & 50 amp electrical service, our marina is ideal for summer dockage or weekend visits. There are clean showers and restrooms for your convenience, a salt water swimming pool, fitness centre and laundromat. Complimentary gas barbeques are located by the gazebo to grill your catch or, if you prefer, a short walk offers excellent restaurants, if you wish to dine out.

•If traveling with a pet, be sure you are compliant with Canadian rules

9-29-23 to 10-01-23 Last cruise out of the year on PIB

• Check your e-mail. I e-mailed a questionnaire out to all the power boaters.

Friday September 29th 6:00pm heavy appetizer's at Millers or the PIBYC pavilion. If we have interest, on Saturday September 30th we will have lunch at noon (if a restaurant can accommodate our group) I’ll try the Keys and The Goat. A e-mail will go out a week before with a weekend schedule. Following lunch a golf cart poker run.

The change of watch dinner starts with cocktails at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30. RSVP at PIBYC.org

Marilyn won our five stop golf cart poker run and Stephanie came in second.
