Thank you for your interest in joining the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. Founded in 1886, PIBYC is one of the oldest yacht clubs on the Great Lakes, and offers its members a unique mix of activities ashore and afloat.

The Club is active in several boating organizations including the Greater Cleveland Boating Association (GCBA), Associated Yacht Clubs (AYC), the Interlake Yachting Association (I-LYA), and Yachting Clubs of America (YCA). The Club serves as host for I-LYA’s Junior Sailing regatta, Senior Sail Regatta, and Junior and Senior Power Regattas. The Club is also frequently asked to host special boating events. Because of these affiliations, a PIBYC membership card grants access to facilities around the country and beyond (our past Fleet Surgeon received a hearty welcome from the Hobart Yacht Club while traveling in Australia).

PIBYC is currently operating at the membership ceiling and has a waiting list. New members may join as space becomes available. The initiation fee is waived for all new and returning members. A modest administrative fee of $50 is required for all new members and some former members depending upon years lapsed.

Regular dues for 2024 will be $335 (plus tax) for Regular members and $130 (plus tax) for Junior members.

Please mail these along with a check for membership dues and administrative fee to:

Our membership consists of power boaters, sail boaters, non-boaters, and a few ferry boaters. The regular Club season spans from early May to early October. Our winter season of Wednesday and Saturday service runs mid-November through March. We also sponsor several mainland winter events.

Just as membership in PIBYC carries these privileges, it also carries responsibility. We are first and foremost a volunteer organization, and all members are asked to contribute whatever skills they can—we have a job for everyone. It is a great way to get involved and meet new people!
